Jess Daponte built her career at the world’s top agencies (Saatchi & Saatchi, Red Antler, DraftFCB, Arnold, Faith Popcorn’s BrainReserve) working closely with Fortune 200 clients to overcome business challenges and stay relevant in changing times.
Under her leadership, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups took its sweet-and-salty combination global, Head & Shoulders dusted off its ‘old man’ image to attract women and Diet Coke bounced back after being hit hard by teas and waters. Her strategies helped launch numerous products for The Hershey Company, Unilever, Coca-Cola, Mattel, Chipotle & General Mills. Her insights served as the foundation for the global launch of the Disney Princess franchise, introducing the term “princess play” into culture.
Jess created Boundless to give brands a seat at the table and keep them there for generations. Boundless is best known for launching SpikedSeltzer, the start-up with the original hard seltzer recipe that created the multi-billion-dollar global sensation. By questioning conventions (“why look like beer?”), Jess helped establish the slim-can trend, now ubiquitous in the category. Jess has also launched start-ups for cultural icons like Jeffrey Katzenberg, Mark Mothersbaugh and Busta Rhymes.
She is passionate about creating jargon-free strategies that ‘flip the familiar’. She is most proud of collaborating with the Obama White House, in conjunction with Nickelodeon, to curb child obesity and help families create new rituals around food. Her work has won a Cannes Gold Lion, two Effies, numerous Pencils & ADDYs.
She received a B.A from NYU in Media Analysis and Marketing. She lives in Park Slope with her husband Matty and their adorable rescue pittie, London.
